VMware vRealize Log Insight 8.10 Upgrade and vIDM

I was upgrading my vRealize log Insight from vRealize Suite Life Cycle Manager (vRSLCM), this weekend but it finish with an Finish Successfully, but the web page just show an error, that it was not accessible, and that there was a “Servlet Error”.

I recently enabled authentication with vIDM deployed from vRSLCM, to make single sign-on between vRA/vROps/vRLI, and that worked fine.

After some digging for some help for this upgrade problem iIfinally found a VMware Knowledge Base article that says it can be a problem with the vIDM, and that I should disable it, and try again.

The KB can be found here. The KB do not only apply to the mentioned Hotfix for version 8.8.2, but also upgrade to version 8.10.

I reverted the snapshot, taht I created during the upgrade, and disabled the vIDM authentication, and did the upgrade again from vRSLCM, and now it worked and I could enable vIDM again.
