Veeam has released Backup for Microsoft Office 365 4c, and also m Backup for Solaris 2.0.

Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 4c

IMPORTANT NOTE: The GA build of Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 version 4c (build 4.0.1.519) was recalled due to a backup sync issue identified by Veeam quality assurance.

If you are running build 4.0.1.519 please refer to the KB3194 and install the corresponding patch.

The latest 4c Day 0 Update build 4.0.1.531 is now available for download with the link provided below.

What’s new:

  • Support for Office 365 tenants using modern app-only authentication with disabled legacy protocols. In the new mode, VBO performs all its backup and restore operations using an Azure AD application instead of user credentials. This new mode addresses the needs of customers using Microsoft Security Defaults in their Office 365 tenant organizations.
  • Support for leveraging auxiliary backup applications to enable faster SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business backups for Office 365 tenants using modern app-only authentication.

There are also a bunch of enhancement and bug fixes. See the Veeam KB for more information here.

Veeam Backup for Solaris 2.0

This is a complete rewrite, where they have taken the Veeam Agent backup for Linux and have converted that to the Solaris OS.

This means that you can use Veeam Repositories for backup destination, and do restore from the Veeam Backup & Replication.

See the release notes here for more information.
